For years, dating back to as early as the 50’s we have seen the appearance of high waist skirts. Now with the new age twist we are seeing an overload of high waisted shorts and jeans this summer. High waisted jeans elongate the leg and tuck in the love handles. They are all over flattering by complementing any figure. The seventies are coming back this season in particular with high waisted, wide legged jeans. With wide legged jeans in full force and now high-waisted jeans, it is clear the skinny and low rise have competition. In look one, I am wearing a BBdakota black muscle tee with high waist, wide legged jeans by Las Halles. These jeans fit like a glove and just walking around in them will have you looking and feeling like a goddess! They go great with a pair of wedges by Seychelles. The high waisted skirt has changed dramatically from it’s ancestors, the black pencil skirt. In look two, I am wearing a cobalt blue, high waisted skirt. We already know the rise of blue this season so when it is combined with a high waisted skirt, it is sure to be a hit. I’m pairing the skirt with a white sugar lip tank and a fabulous summer scarf. I kept a simple white tank with the skirt to accentuate the print of the scarf. A little goes along way! In look three, I am wearing high waisted pink shorts with a Jack by BBdakota sand tank. The light pink and the brown colors together work to create a natural vibe. I put a great summer scarf around my head to add spice to the outfit.
